PRACTICAL GUIDE

Small changes. Less unnecessary exposure.

A practical guide to distance, speakerphone, radio settings, reception, nighttime habits, and thoughtful phone use.

You do not need to wait for a new phone to change how you use the one you have. Start with the situations that repeat every day: calls, carrying, streaming, and sleep.

1. Make distance your default

Put the phone on a table for speakerphone and video calls. Choose an appropriate wired headset when you need privacy. Carrying a phone in a bag creates separation that a tight pocket does not. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for body-worn use.

2. Turn off radios you do not need

Download music, maps, or videos before an offline session. Airplane mode can disable cellular service, but Wi-Fi and Bluetooth may remain on or be re-enabled. Check each setting. Keep emergency communication needs in mind when choosing when to disconnect.

3. Pay attention to reception

A phone adjusts its transmission to maintain a connection. Where reception is poor, postpone a nonessential upload or long call if practical. Avoid assuming that a small SAR specification means the phone always operates at low power.

4. Build a bedtime routine

Charge outside the sleeping area when possible. Use a separate alarm clock if it makes that easier. Keep phones off bedding and follow charging instructions. Decide which connections you need overnight, rather than leaving every radio active by habit.

5. Treat a case as one part of the routine

Use a shielded flap in the instructed orientation. Continue to create distance. Check the model fit carefully and avoid adding accessories that undermine the intended design.
